Job Summary

L.I.F.E., Inc. has in place at each residential site a House Supervisor to ensure L.I.F.E.’s standards are met in the care for the individuals we serve.  The HS is responsible for managing their assigned site of service and the employees/staff assigned within the house to assure compliance with the mission, goals, organization and practices of L.I.F.E., INC.  The HS works under the direct supervision of the Residential Program Coordinator, QIDP and Nursing.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Supervise all staff assigned within the home.  Disciplinary action completed as needed
  • Ensure each Individual we serve is afforded dignity and shown respect
  • Ensure a home environment that is positive and safe
  • Maintain integrity of house (i.e. – clean, organized, attractive)
  • Support each Individual we serve in developing appropriate attitudes and behaviors
  • Maintain the Individuals we serve ISP goals and ensure staff is following the individual’s program
  • Ensure each Individual we serve is active in the community
  • Transport Individuals we serve as needed
  • Assist Individuals we serve with correspondence
  • Assist Individuals we serve with money management (i.e. – saving, paying bills, making wise purchases, etc.).  Receipts turned into Operations Director weekly
  • Plan, supervise and/or prepare nutritious meals following each individual we serve determined dietary needs
  • Maintain adequate and appropriate food supplies within the household to accommodate Individuals residing within the house
  • Ensure each Individual we serve medical appointments are scheduled and attended.  Any required follow-ups will be done in a timely manner
  • On-Call 24/7 for assigned house for questions, call offs, client emergencies, etc.
  • Responsible for covering open hours as they occur keeping overtime hours at a minimum (prior approval required for overtime)
  • Submit required documents to administration in a timely manner
  • Minimum of 3 week notice prior to vacation or resignation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Applicant Should

  • Possess a high school diploma (GED acceptable) or demonstrate the ability to read and write adequately to complete required documentation and follow verbal and written instruction
  • Have successfully completed the IFSSA/DDARS Waiver training module for attendant care or other applicable training from a qualified provider agency or have previous experience as an aide in a home health agency, hospital or long-term care facility or in serving persons with developmental disabilities
  • Have CPR/First Aid certification
  • Be in adequate physical health to perform job tasks required
  • Be free from communicable diseases
  • Have an interest in and empathy for persons with developmental disabilities
  • Possess interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Have successfully completed orientation with provider agency and Direct Support Professional training
